Dreams DO come true.
When I first started putting ideas together for what DeafKAN could eventually do and become, having an annual art exhibit of our children’s artwork was among those early ideas. You can imagine my joy and excitement that we are now realizing that dream this week.
On Friday, Sept. 25th from 5-8 pm we will be having our first-ever exhibit at The Renfro Studio. This is part of a city-wide monthly event called Final Friday. We will be celebrating Deaf Awareness Week by displaying the artistic talents the next Deaf generation. We were blessed with art loaned to us from Kansas School for the Deaf (KSD) and from our very own kids in the DeafKAN program. It’s an intimate studio, so space was limited, but we think you will feel the purity of their creations.
We have 8 incredible paintings from our visits to the Old Town Farmer’s Market over the last two years. These will be available for purchase via silent auction.
We are also thrilled to offer two gifts of art for auction: an original painting by Knee High, an American Miniature Horse and by Shannon Trevethan.
Also availabe will be greeting cards from this year’s art. Limited supply!
