Deaf Awareness Week Events.

Hey everybody! We’re gearing up for Deaf Awareness Week, and it’s time to get the word out about how we’re celebrating. So save the dates, and join us for one, or join us for all! More details to come about each event, but for now, here are the vitals:

Barnes and Noble Book Fair!

When: Saturday, September 20
Where: Barnes and Noble across the nation!
Time: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Austin Andrews – Deaf Ninja!

When: Friday, Sept. 26th
Where: Mayflower Penthouse in Downtown Wichita. (209 E. William Street)
Time: Show starts at 7:00 p.m. Enjoy hamburgers and hotdogs (and other a la carte items for sale) before the show. Only the show introduction will be voice interpreted.
Extra! Don’t miss the Deaf Teen After Party from 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. – Entry fee is just $3!

ASL Personification Workshop by Austin Andrews

When: Saturday, Sept. 27th 
Where: Mayflower Penthouse in Downtown Wichita. (209 E. William Street)
Time: 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Cost: Fees are $65 ($60 for KAI-RID members) A plated lunch will be available for $10.

    • Hi Stephanie! Austin Andrews will be presenting the workshop. We’ve updated the heading to be more clear–thank you!

      If you are a professional that uses ASL, this workshop will give you .6 hours/work time for CEUs. You can register on our blog. The online payment option is coming soon. I hope that helps! Thanks for your question.
